Q1 2025: Balsamiq product updates

A few things dropped this quarter that are worth knowing—especially if you're working on multiple projects, need faster feedback loops, or just thought Balsamiq was starting to feel a little... dusty.

Let’s catch you up real quick. Three big things:

New 5-project plan

If two projects ever felt like not enough (same), but 10 felt like overkill—we fixed that.

Starting at $22/month, the new 5-project plan gives you:

  • Up to 5 active projects
  • Unlimited wireframes
  • No per-user pricing

It’s a great fit for teams starting to scale, and it’s available in both Business and Enterprise flavors.

If you’re interested, you can learn more about our plans or see how to change your Balsamiq Cloud plan.

A cleaner, faster Balsamiq

You told us Balsamiq looked dated. We agreed.

So we gave Balsamiq Cloud, Balsamiq for Jira, and Balsamiq for Confluence a proper UI refresh:

  • Updated UI across menus, panels, and buttons
  • Search is now inside the UI Library (finally)
  • Help content is easier to find
  • Better performance and faster loading times

Check it out!

For the more technically curious, we also upgraded our tech stack. Our backend systems got a boost and the whole front end was rebuilt on Tailwind CSS. This means much more consistent styling, faster development, and less technical bloat.

New stickers, reactions & SaaS templates

Giving and getting feedback on wireframes got better! Now, you can add sticker reactions to your wireframes to:

  • Mark up designs
  • Call out questions, and
  • Highlight key areas with bold visuals

This complements existing markup tools, like comments, callouts, and stickies.

And thanks to Mike, our lead user experience designer, we also added a set of pre-build SaaS Patterns:

  • Sign-up flows
  • Onboarding flows
  • Account settings
  • User profiles

They all follow SaaS best practices, so you don’t have to start from scratch.

You can find them in the UI Library, under Templates.

That’s it for Q1 2025
